Description: The Nokia 6310i was an extremely popular handset, even now after it's unfortunate demise, there are many business users who still cry out for another just like it!
But what is the reason for this? Well, for starters it's larger-than-average size was in it's favour, for those who found the keypads on other mobiles just too small & unforgiving on larger fingers as well as ladies with long fingernails. The user interface, now a well known trademark of Nokia's was by far at it's most user-friendly & the 6310i had a battery standby time of up to 17 days, which is by far the best battery life of any mobile before or since!
Not to mention the fact that many business users who had company cars with fully installed car kits, could use the 6310i & it was sadly to be the last in a line of models with the same connections for accessories of this type.
The features were also primarily aimed at business users, being one of the only Nokia's at the time of release with Bluetooth & tri-band capabilities, you could also use a data suite to link your 6310i to a PC or laptop, if Bluetooth wasn't feasable. GPRS, WAP & High Speed Data transfer capabilities were also on the list of features next to voice activated dialing, vibration alert, Calendar, Alarm & Calculator.

Review: After having a number of different phones from different manufactures I have come to the conclusion that the Nokia 6310i is the best mobile phone that has ever been produced and have just ordered 2 more of these phones for members of my family.
I do a lot of travelling around the world following the World Rally Champtionship and this phone has never let me down. I have noticed that this phone is used be almost every member of every WRC team and is fitted to almost every rally cars. So it just goes to show how tough and well respected this phone is within the world. |

Review: OK, so it's a corporate work horse, not a gee whiz bird puller.
(Besides gadgets like cars are much better at pulling blokes).
Dull but worthy. I have two, one from a past, one from a current employer, but the battery and chargers are still widely interchangeable with earlier nokia models, so I have power to standby for a month and power at every regular place I go.
Ok, with Bluetooth on standby is less, but still very ample, and with low cost bluetooth earpieces at under £30 there's no reason to not to setup voice dialing and stay legal on the road.
It also syncs well to my Toshiba laptop with outlook, though memory for events is a little limited - but do you really need more than a month of diary notes in your mobile?
Screen is OK, monchrome uses less power than colour but does the job fine. Ditto for the monophonmic ringtone, you can find yourself a distinctive ring without paying pounds for a chart hit sample.
Oh and it makes and receives phone calls on 900 and 1800GSM - so apart the USA it's virtiually worldwide compatible.
Solid.
