Description: The Nokia 5140 is the much anticipated follow up to the 5210 or 'rubber' phone. As there are very few phones of this type available on the market, the 5140 is rather popular, particularly among builders or the athletic/sporty-type. What makes it different is that it is dust, shock & water resistant.
Make no mistake though, it is not indestructable & the manufacturer make the point of emphasising the word 'resistant'. However, this is a durable phone designed to take knocks that other mobiles cannot handle! The clip on covers that are interchangeable provide most of the protection, with rubber flaps which cover up any open connection sockets.
Although the 5140 is popular with builders, it was Nokia's intention to market it for the sporty-type. With this in mind, they have fitted it with a stopwatch, thermometer, FM radio & a Nokia Fitness Coach Tutorial no less!
To top it off you also have Java gaming, Tri band, built-in speakerphone, video player & recorder & a flashlight for the camera!

Review: I have had the phone for a few months now and it has never disapointed me. It has everything but the kitchen sink! I know a mountan biking instructor who uses the compass daily so it must be quite acurate.
I personaly use the FM radio almost every day. It has such good quality you forget you are wearing headphones. If you are a sporty pearson looking for a phone this os the one to go for. There are many gagets that I may never use but at least I have them on my phone just in case. This phone is bomb proof!! |
